Family and food have been two of Ben Milbourne's common values throughout his life. From memories of his grandmother cooking to learning her recipes when he moved away for university, Ben has appreciated and learned about food for most of his life. Since graduating Masterchef in 2012, Ben has been forging a career in the food industry. From humble beginnings Ben has now authored two cookbooks. His first, Mexican Craving has been a best seller and released internationally. Tasmanian Trail was Ben's second publication and one that was a labour of love, showcasing produce from his home state. Ben has had success with his TV show as well. Channel 10 has witnessed top ratings with season one of Ben's Menu and the show is currently in production for season 2. Ben has travelled to Mexico, Spain and Portugal with Andy Allen to film for Andy's YouTube series, 'Andy and Ben do' and have other small screen projects for the footage. If all this wasn't enough, Ben has just opened a wing of his residence Fairholme for private dining and cooking demonstrations situated in the heart of the North West Coast of Tasmania. His menus draw upon sourcing produce that is grown locally where Ben has a relationship with the farmer so there is One Degree of separation between the producer and the creation on the plate. 2015 will see this venture expand into food tourism. Now everyone can come and share the One Degree experience with Ben.
